Two years ago, I was on my honeymoon in Oaxaca, Mexico during the Dias de los Muertos celebrations. It was a powerful and healing experience that gave me a better toolkit for dealing with loss and hard topics. I felt so welcomed by the people of Oaxaca and am grateful for their hospitality and willingness to share their culture and customs. . I just finished writing and published a post about my experience on my blog. It is the first of my Mexico / honeymoon posts. The link is in my bio. . #mexico #oaxaca #travel #honeymoon #dayofthedead #diadelosmuertos
My final Japan post is up on my blog! While all my other posts were centered on the cities and sites we saw, this one is more of a summary of tips and reflections from the whole trip. . I had such a great time in Japan and hope you all get a chance to visit! . Link in my bio. . #japan #travel #tips #reflection #blog #fence #nightshot
It was so hot in Japan that even the deer wanted to get in on some air conditioning. The man at this restaurant had to turn off the automatic doors after the deer kept activating them and trying to get inside. . Read about these deer and the rest of our *condensed* day in Hiroshima and Miyajima on my blog. Link in my bio. . #japan #travel #deer #newblogpost #blog #itinerary #hiroshima #miyajima #funnyanimals
Sometimes travel goes to plan, and sometimes it doesn't. One day on our trip to Japan, through a series of errors on our part, we found ourselves with no way of getting to our hotel on the other side of the country that night. We lost some money, and missed out on a day in Hiroshima, but we were ok in the end... and we got to experience the luxurious (in my standards) night buses of Japan. Read my blog on getting from Tokyo to Hiroshima so you don't make the same mistakes. #japan #newblogpost #nightbus #publictransport #bus #hiroshima #travel #travelmishaps
Best part of climbing Mount Fuji: waking up above a sea of clouds to watch the sunrise. . Read about my lazy way to climb a mountain on my blog. You get to sleep in, walk slowly, and nap whenever you want. Link in my bio. . #sunrise #japan #mountfuji #views #mountain #hike #travel #travelblog
This summer, we climbed Mount Fuji! Today, our experience is up on my blog. Link in my bio. #newblogpost #mountain #mountfuji #mtfujijapan #mtfuji #hike #travel #japan #tips #blog #travelblogger
Can you spot me in this photo? Maybe. . Can you read my new blog post about Nikko, Japan? Definitely. . Link in my bio! . #japan #nikko #shrine #travel #blog #tblogger

Are selfies more or less vain when they're drawn? Commemorating my first two miles of the year with a quick sketch. Haven't drawn in a long time, especially with colored pencils, but I bought a sketchbook today so I'm hoping to get more practice. #selfie #sketch #running #drawing #coloredpencil #prismacolor @prismacolor
We are both in love with the snow, and so everyone assured us that even if we move to California, we could always drive to the snow. Excitedly, we drove to Yosemite! While there wasn't even enough snow to do the full Crane Flat 3 mile trail in snow shoes, I'm still very excited that we got to experience any snow at all. I hope you achieved all your 2018 goals, or at least some of them 😄 my only achievement was seeing the snow this year, but that's ok! There's always next year. So, finally getting some snow into my 2018 winter, I am fully ready for 2019! Happy New Year's Eve everyone! #nye #newyearseve #california #snowshoeing #snow #yosemite #trail #winter
You know, they say social media is like screaming into the void. But a few days ago, I made a post which hinted at my sadness during the last week and, because of it, I had friends reach out and arrange to come see me. Thank you and shout out to @meelsmcpete for being a great friend and reaching out. I had a great time going for a jog on a beautiful trail with you. Our selfie with a view didn't work out, but you were smart enough to take a picture of the view separately. I love this selfie anyway :) #friends #jogging #trail #selfie
Wednesday yoga in the Bay. Slowly getting back to exercise after am emotionally difficult week last week. Second day in a row leaving the house! #yoga #selfcare #exercise
Happy #givingtuesday everyone! For those of you who may not know, I am a new volunteer coach for #girlsontherun currently in training and starting in March. This program is important and I have donated my own time and money to it. I ran the marine corps marathon as a #solemate for @gotrdc and have an open fundraiser that ends tomorrow. The link is in my bio and also here: https://www.gotrdc.org/fundraiser/Jane-Litvin-SoleMates-GOTRDC-5a82e Please consider them when you are donating today :) otherwise, enjoy this photo from my rainy jog today! It's the second rain I've seen since moving here. And yes, I'm wearing shorts and a tank top in late November. This weather is new to me! Thank you in advance! #fundraiser #gotr #coach #running #jogging #rainyday #runningintherain
Quick east coast run before starting to cook for Thanksgiving tomorrow. (Photo is from the west coast) Haven't been able to run at all in silicon valley. I'm #thankful for my family and the fresh air in New Jersey. #running #family #thanksgiving
Basking in the bay area smoke today and missing these postcard trails... #california #smoke #trail
My husband bending over to tie his shoe on yesterday's hike. We walked 6.75 miles of the tahoe rim trail in perfect hiking weather yesterday (40-50 Fahrenheit). We were surprised to find everything past half a mile on the trail completely empty of other people. Most people parked on the trailhead and headed up to Castle Rock (under a mile from the trailhead). We originally tried to go for Genoa Peak but realized it was twelve miles round trip and we didn't have time for it so we turned around at 3.5 miles out. The rim trail itself is relatively flat and very walkable / non technical. The temperature varies wildly between the shade and sunny parts. #hike #tahoerimtrail #laketahoe #california
