They say social media is like screaming into the void. But a few days ago, I made a post which hinted at my sadness during the last week and, because of it, I had friends reach out and arrange to come see me. Thank you to @meelsmcpete for reaching out to go for a jog. Thank you to @thekatymurray to letting me know you'll be in California soon and we can hang out again. I'm #thankful that I was able to see my family for Thanksgiving this year, despite having moved across the country. I'm thankful for all my friends and loved ones that have checked in on me since the move (I've been having a really hard time) and have spent countless hours on the phone with me. I'm also thankful to have found the one patch of snow leftover from the storm last week. I do miss the snow.

My husband bending over to tie his shoe on yesterday's hike.
We walked 6.75 miles of the tahoe rim trail in perfect hiking weather yesterday (40-50 Fahrenheit). We were surprised to find everything past half a mile on the trail completely empty of other people. Most people parked on the trailhead and headed up to Castle Rock (under a mile from the trailhead). We originally tried to go for Genoa Peak but realized it was twelve miles round trip and we didn't have time for it so we turned around at 3.5 miles out. The rim trail itself is relatively flat and very walkable / non technical. The temperature varies wildly between the shade and sunny parts.
